The fragmented nature of life is an assumption we must deal with.
Fragment is not always synonymous with destruction or misfortune, the fragment is something minute, small, primitive compared to the universality of the whole. If we wanted to make sense of why, fragmentation represents the answer to one of the many questions of our time and it lies in trying to understand how much there is to heal through the vision of something shattered, often concretely tangible.
La frammentarietà della vita è un presupposto con cui dobbiamo fare i conti.
Frammento non è sempre sinonimo di distruzione o disgrazia, il frammento è qualcosa di minuto, piccolo, primitivo rispetto all’universalità del tutto. Se volessimo dare un senso al suo perché, la frammentarietà rappresenta la risposta ad uno dei tanti interrogativi del nostro tempo ed esso sta nel cercare di capire quanto ci sia da sanare tramite la visione di qualcosa di frantumato, spesso concretamente tangibile.

And it is through the fragmented vision of something that man arrives at the visual and emotional awareness that needs to be “fixed”.
My intent is to bring to the emotional-visual level a search for the fragment as a starting point for moral, physical and spiritual redemption.
Mi spiego meglio. Ogni distruzione presente: la fine di un amore, di una vita, la distruzione causata dai fenomeni naturali portano ad uno stato di rottura, ma è grazie a quest’ultimo che la parte operaia dell’uomo studia e si fa carico di sanarla.
Senza rottura non esiste progresso, il progresso è il momento in cui l’uomo capisce di aver “distrutto” il suo tempo e cerca di progredire.
Ed è tramite la visione frammentata di qualcosa che l’uomo arriva alla consapevolezza visiva ed emozionale che bisogna “aggiustare”.
Il mio intento è quello di portare sul piano emozionale-visivo una ricerca del frammento come punto di partenza per il riscatto, morale, fisico e spirituale.

In this research of mine, the reference to Burri is inevitable: the cretti were the example that I studied and took inspiration from. Making them mine. I have always been impressed by Burri’s work, the hidden casualness with which a crack can split is something poetic. Not knowing what form what you do will take is a big gamble.
In questa mia ricerca il rimando a Burri è inevitabile: i cretti sono stati l’esempio che ho studiato e a cui mi sono ispirato. Facendoli miei. Sono sempre rimasto impressionato dall’opera di Burri, la casualità celata con cui può spaccarsi un cretto è qualcosa di poetico. Non sapere che forma avrà quello che fai è una bella scommessa.
